Apple is poised to DOMINATE the next few years

macOSby paulie420 · 3h ago

With the release of the M4 Mac Mini @ $599 and now the Macbook Neo @ $599, Apple is spinning the low-end market with two heavy hitters!

NOTE: Apple hasn't been validating their Student Pricing discounts, so really anyone can get either of those devices for $499...

I often get asked what computers someone should buy - and with the price increases on RAM and storage it's getting harder and harder to NOT suggest Apple computers. For LOTS of non-technical users, I can't get beyond the above two computers for 50% of the people who pose the question.

For the rest of us, I kinda start suggesting in this order:

Macbook Air iMac Mac Mini Pro Macbook Pro Mac Studio

... theres so many choices of Apple machines for decent pricing; most of the time I suggest the base model and either help the user order internal SSD replacements, or just use external storage - with Thunderbolt 4 and 5, we can normally get external NVME speeds similar to Apple's internal SSD.

Sure, I love running Linux on my Framework Laptop, and I love its modular repairability - something users WON'T get with Apple hardware - but man... a decently kitted out Framework 16 will easily run into the $2500-3000 range; and you could go higher!

macOS is very similar to Linux, even tho the haters will swear its not; I get around my macOS system in bash, and I can tell you it feels like home most of the time...

Is anyone gonna be able to catch Apple while the AI boom keeps RAM/storage prices through the roof? I don't think so - my prediction is that Apple is going to SOAR again, becoming even more of a stronghold and allowing them to continue to offer hardware that kills the competition.

What say you???
